Since 2004 we have been traveling up and down the country visiting prisons and talking part in a restoreative justice course called the Sycamore tree programme.

The course is a six week programme where the inmates learn about the inpack crime has on their victims.

On week three we are invited to visit a meeting and we sit in front of about sixteen men or women and tell them our story and the ripple effect it not only had on our family but also our friends and the community.

We have seen so many lives change by doing this course,

We also visit young offenders insutute and we find it hard to believe the number of our young people that are serving time in prison today. most of them are in for drug and gang related crimes eg Murder.

It is time to put a stop to this and the only way is for schools to invite victims of crime to come and talk to our young people about the dangers of alcohal and drug abuse, and been a member of a gang.

It seems everytime we turn on our TV or radio we hear of another young person been shot of knifed to death. our young people are killing each other and for what?
